Very quick note before I take it easy over the Christmas period.
Firstly, thank you for all your support this year. It does not go unnoticed. Every like of a social media post, every reader of a newsletter, every comment, every message from trainees…it all helps keep me motivated to support those in their early careers in the accountancy and professional services world.
Although this year has been a slower start to Accountancy Hub than I had predicted, there have been some brilliant wins:
Launching the business at the end of Jan 2024 and talking to around 50 accountancy firms or awarding bodies who have shown an interest in the platform and service
Securing our very first corporate client - a top 10 accountancy firm!
We have now officially started working with trainees at MKS
We’ve also supported around 50 individuals who were struggling - of those who had a resit approaching, 100% passed their exam after speaking with us/having paid resit coaching
I’ve networked my *ss off and put Accountancy Hub on the radar of all the awarding bodies - I’ve spoken to the CEO of AAT, President of ACCA and CEO, and MD of Education, of ICAEW, CEO of caba…and more
We’ve grown our social media following to over 5000 from zero - I've even had paid work as an ‘influencer’ this year (if you can believe that!)
I’ve raised awareness of cultural challenges in the industry and hope to work more closely with awarding bodies in this regard next year
3 people have asked me about speaking at London Accountex next year (gah!) - proposals are being submitted
Finally, I have been elected to the ICAEW Council for the Diversity & Inclusion Community (starting June 2025) - received the email this morning.
I. Am. Over the moon.
The ICAEW won't know what’s hit it :D
I look forward to representing our diverse accountants, business leaders and professionals - and of course, I will need your input for this to be a success.
Do reach out to me if there is anything EDI-related you’d like to discuss (hannah@accountancyhub.co.uk).
Wishing you the merriest of Christmases with loved ones.
Hannah
